Welcome to a Serene Seaside Escape with Natural Warmth and Soft Minimalism

If you pictured a calm retreat, would it be where you could bathe in golden light and relax in soft minimalism? Stepping inside Sabbia by Rose Co By Design, it gives this exact atmosphere; as a serene apartment tucked just streets away from the ocean in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, it feels like a natural extension of the coastline itself.

At Rose Co By Design, spaces are made to feel curated, cohesive, and quietly encapsulating. The Founder and Creative Director, Ishoa Rose Scozzafava, makes the process collaborative by nature, merging considered design principles with individual style to craft interiors that are both beautiful and deeply personal. Just like her other designs, this is exactly the case with Sabbia, too.

Light diffuses through linen sheers, textures are luxurious, and every curve just flows. The story begins with stone. Franca Design’s Sicilia Verde sparked the vision, and the renovation was based around this colour. The muted green, soft veining, and a natural warmth instantly evokes sand and sun and the stone colour is the soul of the space. Let’s have a look inside.

You’re greeted by a curved kitchen island wrapped in Signorino’s Ginza off-white mosaics. Its rounded form anchors the open-plan space like a soft sculpture. The benchtop in Sicilia Verde spills gently over the sides, glowing under warm Soktas wall lights. Overhead, Polytec Natural Oak cabinetry adds tone and texture, its linear grain grounding the room in organic warmth. Brass hardware by Lo & Co and Linear Standard adds a stunning edge and the timber underfoot feels soft and quiet, like beach sand.

Just beside the kitchen sits one of Sabbia’s most inviting corners: the built-in booth seat, curved to hug the dining table in an intimate semi-circle. Upholstered in a creamy Warwick fabric and custom-made by Create Estate, it turns every meal into a moment. Paired with sculptural Rach Donath dining chairs and bathed in golden light, it’s the kind of spot that turns breakfast into brunch and a coffee into conversation.

The living area opens up into a curated but deeply comfortable space. It invites you to sink in, styled with soft, tonal cushions and throws. The coffee table by Temple & Webster and the side table from Fleur Studio bring an artisan edge, while an Elme Living rug anchors the scene in sandy neutrals. Textures layer seamlessly, with linen, oak, ceramic, and boucle echoing the beach.

In the bedroom, quiet reigns. A custom Warwick bedhead wraps the wall in gentle curves, while crisp gingham bedding adds a hint of relaxed charm. Walls are painted in a barely-there cream, with natural light spilling in through floaty curtains. At your feet, plush carpet from EC Carpets softens every step. It feels like a space where you can just stop to breathe, relax, and enjoy the stillness.

The bathroom continues the palette of peace, pairing oversized tiles from Casa Ceramics with off-white mosaics and brushed tapware by Barben Boutique. Light bounces gently off the surfaces, and soft silhouettes are echoed in the mirror and basin. It’s a retreat that feels quiet, warm, and grounding. Just like a bathroom should be.

Sabbia is a Sunshine Coast retreat that offers natural warmth and ensures complete harmony. It’s no doubt that the gorgeous tiling, brushed gold fixtures and unique furniture add balance and texture, with timeless design principles. Now offered as a holiday stay, Sabbia is designed for slowing down. It’s not just a place to visit, it’s earthy, elegant, and wholly serene; it invites you to exhale and relax.
